Light is a right,
not a privilege!
In Brazil, millions of people still live without adequate access to electricity or rely on precarious and dangerous sources of lighting.
The lack of lighting or poor lighting inside homes (such as the use of kerosene lamps or candles) makes it harder for children to study, for people to work, and to carry out basic activities with comfort and safety. It also increases the risk of fires and, in the case of kerosene lamps, can harm health and contribute to pollution.
Litro de Luz uses simple materials to make solar lighting accessible to low-income communities, bringing light into the lives of those who still lack proper access to electricity. We train residents to install, replicate, and maintain the technology. These solutions are made from simple materials such as PVC pipes and PET bottles and are based on solar energy.

Together, we can light up Brazil!
If you want to transform realities and bring dignity to those living in the dark, this is your place. At Litro de Luz, we believe that a fairer, more sustainable, and brighter world for everyone is possible.
Our work shows, in practice, the power of mobilization, social technology, and collective effort. Each illuminated community reinforces what we know: we are on the right path, but there is still much to be done. Joining Litro de Luz means choosing not to accept inequality as normal. It means turning indignation into impact. It means being part of a movement that doesn’t just dream of change—but builds, with its own hands, a brighter future.
