“Our Way” Methodology
The Litro de Luz operates with its own methodology, called “Our Way”, certified by the Fundação Banco do Brasil as a social technology. This methodology enables the mobilization of volunteers, the mapping of communities, the understanding of their needs, and the training of residents for the installation, replication, and maintenance of the technology. Throughout this process, local leaders are identified and developed as Ambassadors, who then represent the organization within the community. This model ensures strong community engagement and helps guarantee that the initiative has a lasting impact. Below is a simplified version of the methodology:

Community Search and Selection
Ongoing efforts to update the National Community Database with pre-defined data.
Action
Assembly and installation day carried out together with the community.
Local
Engagement
Beginning of a closer presence in the community, getting to know local leaders and residents to introduce Litro de Luz Brasil and understand their needs.
Post Action
Monitoring the performance of solutions and the community’s conditions to ensure sustained impact.
Leadership Development
Training of Ambassadors who will learn how to build and maintain the solutions, acting as representatives of Litro within the community.
Litro de Luz Brasil Ambassadors
Being a Litro de Luz Brasil Ambassador means being a guardian of the light that transforms. It is about connecting people, building trust, and making it possible for light to continue generating social impact in everyday life, bringing safety, dignity, and a better quality of life for everyone.
The Ambassador works directly within the community, representing Litro de Luz to residents, and vice versa. They act as a bridge for communication, dialogue, and active listening, helping to translate needs, share information, and strengthen the connection between the community and lighting solutions. More than taking care of poles and lamps, the Ambassador takes care of relationships. They foster a sense of belonging, encourage the conscious use of resources, and promote collective responsibility for what belongs to everyone.

Main Responsibilities of the Ambassador
The Ambassador is the main link between Litro de Luz and the community. They maintain close contact with residents, provide updates on the status of the lighting solutions, and help organize Litro’s activities within the territory. They also share information, guide the proper use of lighting, and contribute to coexistence, cooperation, and collective care. As someone recognized within the community, their role strengthens trust, dialogue, and people’s engagement.
The Ambassador as a Community Leader
Ambassadors are essential for Litro de Luz’s work within communities. They collaborate, coordinate, and make it possible to ensure access, build connections, and maintain ongoing communication with residents. By taking on this role, Ambassadors develop their leadership, gain recognition, and contribute to strengthening their communities in a lasting way. Being an Ambassador means committing to represent Litro de Luz with responsibility, presence, and care, keeping not only the installed light on, but also the relationships that sustain transformation.
