How we sustain ourselves
We raise funds through strategic partnerships, service provision for companies, participation in national and international grants, tax incentive laws, and individual donations. In addition, we receive corporate donations and use Brazil’s Civil Society Organizations Regulatory Framework (MROSC) to enable and support our projects.
How does institutional support work so we can leverage Brazil’s Civil Society Organizations Regulatory Framework (MROSC)?
In a direct donation, a company can record the contribution as an expense—within the limit of 2% of its operating profit—thereby reducing the taxable base for Corporate Income Tax (IR) and Social Contribution on Net Profit (CSLL).
Under these conditions, by accounting for the donation as an expense and observing the legal limits, it is possible to recover up to 34% of the donated amount. In other words, for every R$1,000.00 donated, there is a tax reduction of R$340.00.
The MROSC was enacted in Brazil in 2014 through Law No. 13.019/2014, with the main objective of improving the relationship between the government and Civil Society Organizations (CSOs), promoting greater transparency, efficiency, and participation in the implementation of public policies and social projects.
