Nice to meet you,
we are Litro de Luz Brasil!
Litro de Luz is an organization that believes energy is a right, not a privilege. We work to provide accessible and sustainable solar lighting solutions to communities that still lack adequate access to electricity. Through simple, low-cost technologies, we empower local residents to become agents of transformation in their own territories, promoting autonomy, safety, and quality of life.

Origin and presence in Brazil
During the energy crisis that occurred in the country, Brazilian Alfredo Moser created a very simple lighting solution using a PET bottle. This solution became known as the Moser lamp.
2001
Filipino Illac Diaz, founder of the MyShelter Foundation—which promotes low-cost sustainable projects—saw in the solution created by Alfredo Moser (a Brazilian mechanic who, in 2002, installed the Moser lamp on his roof during a blackout) an opportunity to help low-income families in his country, creating the project “A Liter of Light” (Um Litro de Luz).
2011
Litro de Luz was established in Brazil as a non-profit organization and, since then, has directly impacted the lives of more than 25,000 Brazilians through over 5,000 solutions, reaching more than 200 communities across the country.
