How Our Work Functions
The Litro de Luz operates with its own methodology, called Nosso Jeito (Our Way), certified by the Banco do Brasil Foundation as a social technology. This methodology enables them to mobilize volunteers, map communities, understand their needs, and train residents for the installation, replication, and maintenance of the technology. During this process, local leaders are identified and trained as Ambassadors, who then represent the organization within the community. This model ensures the engagement of residents and guarantees that the action has a lasting impact. Below is a simplified version of the methodology:
1. Community Search and Selection
Ongoing effort to feed the National Community Database with pre-defined data.
3. Strengthening leadership
Training of Ambassadors who will learn how to build and maintain the solutions, serving as Litro’s representatives in the community.
5. Post-action
Monitoring the functioning of the solutions and the community’s situation, to ensure sustained impact.
2. Local Engagement
Beginning of closer engagement with the community, meeting leaders and residents to introduce Litro de Luz Brazil and to understand their needs.
4. Action
Day of assembling and installing the solutions together with the community.

How Does Sustainable Lighting Transform Communities?
With simple, sustainable solutions like solar streetlights and lanterns, Litro de Luz impacts the lives of thousands, promoting greater safety, education, and quality of life.
In the communities where we work, access to sustainable energy not only lights up homes but also reduces costs and environmental impact.

"When there wasn’t this light, I didn’t go anywhere around here. And now with this light, it illuminates all of this. Now, sometimes at night when my husband isn’t here, I go out to see something by the riverbank. I can see from here to the riverbank with this light."
